Teri Lynn Hatcher was born on December 8th, 1964 in
Sunnyvale, California as the only child of a physicist
father and a computer programmer mother. Born and raised
in the San Francisco area, Ms. Hatcher began studying
acting at the American Conservatory Theatre while pursuing
an undergraduate degree in mathematics and engineering.
Although she was planning to transfer to California
Polytechnic Institute, she attended an open casting
call -- as a favor to a friend who needed moral support
-- for the Aaron Spelling production "The Love
Boat", got a part in it, and ended up in Hollywood.
During the 1985/86 season she played Amy, one of "The
Mermaids", the Pacific Princess' very own dancing
& singing group. She was even featured in an actual
plot-line at one time! :-) After this screen debut Teri
had several small guest roles in various TV series before
making her motion-picture debut as a sexy, self-absorbed
starlet in Christopher Guest's Hollywood satire, "The
Big Picture," earning immediate acclaim as an accomplished
and commanding performer with a gift for comedy.
She followed that success with a dramatic role as the
sister of Sylvester Stallone's character in the film,
"Tango and Cash," then returned to comedy
with Sally Field and Kevin Kline in "Soapdish,"
and appeared opposite Dolly Parton and James Woods in
"Straight Talk." She recently co-starred with
Alec Baldwin, Eric Roberts, Mary Stuart Masterson and
Kelly Lynch in the thriller, "Heaven's Prisoners."
Teri's latest project was the James Bond movie "Tomorrow
Never Dies" in which she played Paris Carver, the
wife of 007's adversary, a role played by Jonathan Pryce
She starred on Norman Lear's semiautobiographical television
series, "Sunday Dinner," and has guest starred
on such series as "Seinfeld," "Murphy
Brown" and "L.A.Law.". An incourigible
animal lover, Ms. Hatcher finds it impossible to resist
adopting strays of all sorts. Her current menagerie
includes two dogs, three cats, a cockatiel and a tortoise.
Other favorite activities include skiing, golf, hiking
and gardening.
After a failed marriage in 1988? to Mark Leithold that
lasted only 10 months, Ms. Hatcher married actor Jon
Tenney in May, 1994 with whom she currently resides
somewhere north of Los Angeles. Teri and Jon's first
child, daughter Rose Emerson, was born on November 10,
1997.
