Born December 12, 1970 to Gerard, a clothing manufacturer, and Eileen, an antique dealer, Connelly in the Catskill Mountains of New York state, Jennifer grew up in Brooklyn Heights of New York City. At the age of ten, a friend of the family suggested that the Connelly's take their daughter to a modeling tryout. Jennifer was signed by the prestigious Ford Modeling agency and went on to appear in a number of print and television ads. In 1997, Jennifer became the proud single mother of a son, Kai.

In 1983, Jennifer was introduced to Sergio Leone who cast her in her debut film " Once Upon a Time in America" a gangster movie. Though Jennifer went on to appear in a number of other films since her debut, it wasn't until she was awarded the role of Sarah in "Labyrinth" which co-stared David Bowie that she became a star.

For a while after "Labyrinth", Jennifer had a hard time breaking free of the role and instead concentrated on her schooling. After graduating from Saint Ann's school, where she attended all except two years of her schooling, she enrolled as an English major in Yale and then transferred to Stanford. When her career took off again, she left school to re-energize her acting career.

Jennifer has proven herself to be a good improvisational actress and as a result has a number of projects lined up. With a solid fan base, thanks largely to "Labyrinth" backing her, she is expected to be one of the super stars of the new millennium.
